Keen to Learn

For many years now, The InterFaith Food Shuttle (IFFS) in Raeligh NC has sent staff to the public course Learning to Listen, Learning to Teach led by Karen Ridout. These staff, including the founder and Executive Director, Jill Bullard, are engaged in teaching and training.

The IFFS has a training project called The Culinary Arts Training Program, preparing young men and women to work in food preparation. I was at a recent Culinary Arts Training graduation and spoke to one of the guests who is the Director of a large catering service. He mentioned that he had hired three graduates of this training program. I asked what he noticed about the performance of those workers, whose teachers had consistently used Dialogue Education™. Without hesitation, the Director said, “Those three stand out because they are all conspicuously keen on learning.”
