Milestone Announcement

by Peter Noteboom
GLP Executive Director

From January 20-22, 2006 in Toronto, a number of Senior Associates of Global Learning Partners met to explore establishing a professional partnership corporation as equal shareholders of Global Learning Partners, Inc. Barring any unforeseen difficulties, they have committed to work toward the establishment of a new professional partnership in the next few months. Since then, others have also expressed an interest in joining the process. The proposed new Partners in Global Learning Partners are:

  • Elena Carbone, Amherst, MA
  • Marian Darlington Hope, Boston, MA
  • Darlene Goetzman, Allegany, NY
  • Karen Ridout, Raleigh, NC
  • Jeanette Romkema, Toronto, ON
  • Peter Noteboom, Toronto, ON
  • Peter Perkins, Calais, VT
  • Bert Troughton, Richmond, NH
  • Valerie Uccellani, New Orleans, LA

The intent of this new formal partnership is to strengthen GLP as a worldwide organization promoting Dialogue Education as an effective and engaging approach to learning and teaching. All the partners will contribute time to such business-growing activities as marketing and new course development. They will also continue to teach and do design work, together with the wonderful array of GLP Certified Teachers worldwide.

Contact persons for Global Learning Partners remain the same: Dwayne Hodgson for Programs, Christina de Jong for Communications.

A provisional management committee of Darlene Goetzman, Peter Noteboom, and Karen Ridout has been established to take the lead on budget and finance, personnel, legal matters, and business leadership. They will make decisions in consultation with GLP staff, other partners, and you--the broader community of GLP associates.

Specific changes in operations and ownership will be announced as they occur in the next few months. Please don't hesitate to contact us with reactions or questions about this new partnership (start with Peter Noteboom, pnoteboom@globalearning.com). Stay tuned for more details once the new agreement gets formalized and finalized!
