Romano
Jo Romano is President of Josephine Romano
Associates, based in Montpelier, Vermont, specializing in life coaching, consultation,
and training design and delivery. She is also a Certified Teacher for Global Learning
Partners.
Jo is passionate about working with motivated learners in communities,
businesses, non-profits, state agencies and schools. She brings the principless
and practices of adult learning to grow knowledge, skills, and attitudes, and
help individuals reach their personal goals for performance and balance in their
life.
She has devoted 35 years of full-time working experience in managing
programs, people, and systems in the judicial and human services fields. She served
20 years as County Clerk and Superior Court Manager for Washington County in the
State of Vermont. In this capacity she was responsible for case flow management,
human resources development, and overall court and county administration.
For
the past 15 years Jo has been the Substance Abuse Prevention Consultant in Central
Vermont for the Vermont Department of Health and the Agency of Human Services.
In this role she consulted with all stakeholders involved in substance abuse services,
facilitated community coalition building, and designed and delivered customized
training that supports the goals of local communities and organizations. Jo is
also a prevention consultant with the Vermont Safe and Drug Free Schools Team.
Jo holds a liberal arts degree from Johnston State College, Vermont. Her advanced
work in substance abuse consultation and community coalition development include
programs at the New England School of Addiction Studies and the New England School
of Prevention Studies.
Jo is a member of the International Coaching Federation,
the Vermont Governors Council on Domestic Violence, the Advisory Board for
Prevention and Community Development at Woodbury College in Vermont, the Vermont
Refugee Assistance Program, and President of the Central Vermont Regional Partnership.
She
is founder and coordinator of Neighbors Helping Neighbors a community
service-based program in her local community. She is a shelter parent for young
children and adolescents and also houses foreign individuals and families seeking
refugee status in Canada. Jo lives happily on a hill overlooking beautiful green
mountains with her loving husband Dan, precious children Jaimen and Natessa and
friendly dog, Scooter.
