Dwayne Hodgson, Programs Director
Dwayne supports the work of GLP's Partners through
everything from connecting with potential course participants
to following up on completed courses and all steps in between.
Dwayne is also a GLP Certified Teacher who enjoys designing new
curricula and facilitating workshops on topics like project design,
monitoring and evaluation; meeting facilitation; and organizational
capacity building.
Dwayne brings 14
years of experience in the fields of adult learning, community
development and environmental stewardship. Previous to joining
GLP he worked for four years with a non-governmental organization
in Tanzania, East Africa, and working with a social policy research
group on poverty in Canada. He also worked with local residents
to start a community garden program in downtown Ottawa, where
he again lives with his wife, Tricia and two children.
Dwayne is an avid
cyclist, plays piano and djembe hand-drums, and makes a decent
loaf of bread by hand. He holds a M.A. in International Affairs
from Carleton University, and an Honours Bachelor of Arts &
Science degree from McMaster University. He has traveled extensively
in Eastern and Southern Africa, and looks forward to showing his
kids new parts of the world, whether overseas or around the block.
